Flipette and the sandman

Flipette woke up with a start.  Double flipflopping ratfinks!!  She'd been dreaming again.  Of the sand and the turquoise ocean and... him.  Thongio.  No, not him!!  He was some other chick's man, but then again, not bad, not bad at all.  Or maybe he was bad.  Very bad.

She shook herself again and was fully awake.  I just miss Thongio so much she thought.  And now it's almost Christmas.  Flipette could remember so clearly the day she met him.  It was just another ordinary vacation day with the usual walk on the beach.  And suddenly, there he was.

Flipette buried herself in the almost overpowering scent of Douglas fir, remembering, ahhhhhhh... remembering:  other Christmas trees, other banisters bedecked with garland, soft laughter, Joy to the World.
It seemed like just yesterday.  Or the day before that, maybe a week or so.  But glorious all the same, those nights and days in Tobago.  On the beach, in the villa, even at the airport.  Flipette missed him so very much.  Sigh.  A long, cold, up north kind of sigh for a hot Caribbean...
